How To Attract the Clients You Want

Previously I talked about knowing who you want to help and why. Then we talked about making the clear, decisive decision that YOU ARE doing this. Now, I want to share with you how to attract the clients you want to help. There is a lot of information I want to share with you on this. It may extend over a few newsletters.

I’d rather give you the step-by-step approach than drink from the fire hose approach. I want to give you practical, specific action steps. And, I want you to do the action steps and let me know how you’re doing. Sound fair?

You want to put yourself in their shoes. Imagine you’re sitting across the table from them having lunch. What do they eat? What do they drink? What do they talk about? Is this person male or female? How old is this person? Does this person have children? You want to ask them where they hang out, what do they do to grow their business, what do they read.

The more you can clearly identify about your client, the better you can connect with her. And that connection is key to creating a magnetic attraction between you and your ideal clients. This will also help you avoid tire kickers – those who want to ask you lots of questions but don’t really want to work with you and pay you for your expertise.

You want to avoid tire kickers because they drain you of your time and energy. Not to mention, they deplete your confidence. You may be thinking: “shouldn’t I try to sell my services to everyone? My services would certainly help everyone.” The problem here is not everyone is ready for your services. So, you’ll spend a lot of time and energy sharing with them about how wonderful your services are and how great their life will be after they hire you only to hear the heartbreaking “no”, “I’m not ready” or “I’d like to work with you later…”. And there goes your confidence… down into the gutter.

Action Steps –

Write down specifics about your ideal client. Include as many details as you can.

male or female
age
children / grandchildren
working at … / retired
hobbies
likes / dislikes
clothing / shoes
hair style
issues or problems they tend to deal with

you get the idea – add to the list…

The more details you get, the better you can connect with this person. No, not every client is going to look exactly like this but this is going to help you energetically attract your IDEAL clients.

Next, we’ll talk about where to find these wonderful clients.
