A few common questions that are asked of me:

“Lisa, how did you get so many clients so quickly, filing your healing practice to capacity in only four months?”

And I really wish I had a simple answer to these questions. But I don’t. The truth is there are many factors that lead to my success.

First of all, if making money from your “gift” seems confusing, I know where you’re coming from. You see, when I first started my healing practice, I was terrified. I had just left the corporate world and the steady paycheck. I didn’t know the first thing about being an entrepreneur and being my own boss.

I also had a lot of fear around “what will they think.” After all, I was coming out of the corporate echelons and into the woo-woo world that would have gotten me laughed at and ridiculed right out of my corner office, or so I thought.

It took me a while to get my head wrapped around the fact that I have a gift to share and help others with and if I don’t share it, nobody benefits. Once, I got serious about my healing practice, the growth was amazing. My clients got results they had only dreamt about up to that point. There was no way I could turn back now. Sure, fear still crept in now and then.

But I was lucky, I hired a coach to help me get through the mental mud, show me the shortcuts and help me raise my standards and expectations of myself.

I was able to quickly get myself on the right path to building a hugely successful practice.

How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be the Success Mentor for Alternative-Holistic Practitioners?

To answer this question, it’s probably best that I share with you a defining moment and resulting “compelling story” that brought me to where I am today, coaching people like you on exactly what to do to get new high quality clients consistently.

That defining moment in my life happened in 1998 when I experienced complete burnout and ended up in the hospital. I was working as an advertising & marketing consultant. At first, I loved my job and then the corporate way took over and I ended up working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week – Due to lack of having any idea how to manage my time, my stress and my health to attain my goals. All I knew how to do was be persistent and plow full steam ahead, and eventually it caught up with me. I searched high and low for somebody to help me, tools I could use, anything to help me get on the right track. I obviously couldn’t continue the way I was going. I didn’t find any real help with the clarity I needed for lasting results.

I knew I couldn’t continue in that job as a marketing and advertising consultant. I went back to college and earned my master’s degree in psychotherapy, combined that with my certifications in holistic and alternative healing and started Center for the Self in 2004.

My clients got wonderful results and it grew to having clients all over the world. With my marketing background, my practice was full within four months. And I noticed that a lot of my clients are other healers asking me how do you get so many clients? How do you do so much and stay balanced and sane.

Since I promised myself I would never go through burn out again and I wasn’t able to find training, tools or support to help me get balanced and stay balanced, I developed my own system. It was just for my own use – my own sanity. And I would share these tools with my clients. And, they told me “Wow, this is great, you should put this stuff in a book!” Well, I didn’t think much of it… until I kept hearing this again and again… and I got the same feedback from Toastmasters. I don’t claim to be a professional author and I now have a lot of respect for authors because it does take a lot of time and focus to produce a book. I can proudly say…. I did it. I wrote the book…. actually 5 books, 3 CDs and a coaching program. I have made it so complete and so simple that success is just following the map. My clients have a map to their success that we create together. It’s amazing…. and it works! Again, my clients are getting life changing results.. and that’s what it’s all about. Who are your clients exactly?

I work with people just like you in private practice and other independent professionals who are really good at what they do; however, have never been taught exactly how to get focused, attract clients and set up systems so they ALWAYS have clients. What happens if you haven’t yet worked with people in my field?

I have worked with hundreds of clients around the world in a wide range of private practice and “independent” industries. It’s likely that I have worked with people in your field. However, I want to share with you that if I haven’t, you are not at a disadvantage, quite to the contrary. Here’s why: people in your field are probably ALL doing the same things to build their business. As you can imagine, this creates a lot of repetition. What my clients have found exceedingly helpful is that I bring a completely fresh perspective to their success process and give them resources they’d never heard of in their field. Because of this, they stand out above the crowd and are the ones getting the clients and succeeding.

How are you different from other “business coaches?”

I ONLY work with sole practitioners and very small businesses. In other words, I don’t consult with people in mid-sized companies or large corporations and I’m not a Jill-of-all-trades-coach. I refer those businesses to other coaches. What that means to you is that I am very focused on anything and everything that works for the sole practitioner. Because my focus is very narrow, what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for independent professionals. I’ve simply become an expert at this stuff and that’s why my clients, groups and customers get great results (and I throw in a healthy dose of compassion, humor and encouragement, which ALWAYS helps!).

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

The Yes I Can With A Plan workshops, products and programs were created for people who are excited and serious about having a successful practice and ending what I call “the sleepless worry nights”, meaning, not waking up in the middle of the night anymore worrying about “how am I ever going to make this work and have a real and successful practice?” They were created for you to get crystal clear focus on exactly what to do and when to do it. You’ll save time, save money and avoid extra effort with systems and have a steady flow of new clients within a few months (sometimes weeks!) This leads to you getting all the business and clients you want in a shorter time than traditionally expected (three to five years, or more).

Being a high achieving go-getter myself, I’m known to work best with other high achieving go-getters who are super-ready to get going and just want to know exactly what steps to take to get focused and succeed.

For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work?

Please know I’m very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn’t be fair to them.)

The Yes I Can With A Plan! Success programs are NOT for those who have no money coming in and are absolutely, financially desperate, at least not right away. It’s been my experience that people in financial crisis do not trust the recommendations I give them and do not do the work (probably because they spend so much time worrying about where they are going to get next month’s rent check or mortgage payment.)

If you fall within this category, it’s absolutely OK. We’ve all been in times of financial crisis at one point or another. Do yourself (3) favors:

Get some money coming in with a full-time or part-time job at the very least, and then call me. This will take the edge off and provide a little more peace of mind. Mostly, it will de-clutter your mind enough to focus on your Yes I Can With A Plan! Success assignments and the BIG picture. Once you start seeing the clients come in regularly as a result of our work, you can then start reducing the hours you work at that other job and focus on your own practice.

Another type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?
